FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 17, 2003, 8:30 p.m. Long John Recovers From HomeBARNES PLACE (ATLANTA, GEORGIA) - While still in fragile condition, Long John was strong enough to come home this weekend, where he is recovering nicely. Test results for Addison's Disease came back negative, and Dr. Hirsch is now convinced it was simple something he ate that upset his G.I. Track. "He was looking up on Friday," said Chris, a staff member at the Veterinary Center of Buckhead. Long John learned quickly once he began feeling better that if he stood on his I.V. tube, it would block the flow, sounding an alarm, causing someone to come very quickly to shower him with attention. "He was doing it at least once an hour," added Chris. Long John will continue his antibiotic treatment for the next week, along with twice-daily doses of Pepcid AC. He continues on a special diet, and should be back to his normal eating routine by the middle of next week. Long John would like to thank all his fans from around the world who sent messages of love and support. While sleeping a lot, he's returning to his normal level of energy and vivaciousness. --END-- © Timothy State, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 The Blanche Logo, "Southern Style.
