Our
sound byte for FOX, NBC, CBS, and ABC while waiting in a line
wrapping around the theater for the opening of Star Wars Episode
1: The Phantom Menace.
Our friend, Andrew, stood in line for
us several days prior to the opening to get tickets. When he
got to the box office, the 12:01 a.m. show had sold out. The
12: 15 a.m. show was still available, however, the 12:30 was
in the new Dolby 9-channel surround sound. The ninth channel
immerses the audience in the experience significantly more than
the 8-channel, more traditional surround sound, so we've read.
While it's not the first showing (we're the first to admit that),
we were exiting the theater as fans on the West Coast were just
beginning to see the opening previews. So therefore, we are amongst
the first in the country to view the movie.
