Congratulations, Hallmark!

        Hallmark has come out with a line of gay wedding cards. You might imagine that the religious right is now happy. I used the American Family Association’s Action Alert Page to send this congratulations message to Chairman Hall of Hallmark.

Dear Chairman Hall:

Thank you so much for recognizing today's families are so much more complex that dated concepts. Your line of gay greetings cards is great!

When my partner and I had a civil union ceremony in Vermont in 2004, my aunts gave us wedding cards designed for a man and a women, and simply had to cross out any reference to a woman, and replace it with a reference to a man.

Thanks for allowing our family and friends to recognize our relationships by providing cards that fit our lives -- cards that they can buy anywhere.
