This is a cute book that is very accessible to anyone adolescent navigating relationships. The main character is straight, and deals with his own homophobia as he befriends an openly out gay student. As their friendship develops, he learns about respecting one's self enough to respect others. This book is more than a gay book -- it's a relationship book that deals with the angst of sexuality and intimate relationships head-on.
