Barnes Place Aquatorium
Ivana Blow makes her home in the Barnes Place Aquatorium.
Unfortunately, a terrible
tragedy has hit the Aquatorium. Previously Marine Biologists
Barbie and Kira worked to study how good fashion and style integrate
into the fragile underwater ecosystem. You can read the results
of those studies below.

Barbie and Kira's Marine Fashion Study
Hi Kids!
I love working at
the Barnes Place Aquatorium, where every day is dedicated to
the conservation of our planet's delicate marine life eco-system.
My partner, Kira, and I spend most of our day in the tank, studying
aquatic life.
We float around in a fifteen-gallon Marineland Eclipse-One
Tank. That's enough water to fill three industrial-size buckets.
This beautiful display aquarium provides three-hundred sixty
square inches of prime viewing area. The one-piece frames are
thoroughly bonded together for leak-proof integrity. The tank
weighs in excess of one hundred fifty pounds-or two small children.
The black silicone seal and matching accents present a clean,
contemporary look, which coordinates with our wet suits.
But before I get too far into marine fashion, let me tell
you about the top-mounted lighting and filtration system which
features the Marineland Bio-Wheel-the undisputed leader in biological
filtration.
First, this unit combines simple, elegant styling with superior
performance and efficiency. The specially selected fluorescent
daylight lamp in a clear, water-protected housing is ideal for
plant growth, ornamental fish color enhancement, and highlighting
our latest underwater fashions.
Underneath a convenient
hinged panel, is access to a three-stage system of total filtration
efficiency. All water is initially filtered-mechanically and
chemically-through the heavy-duty, high performance Eclipse Filter
Cartridge constructed of dirt-trapping polyfiber and packed with
Magnum Premium Activated Carbon. Pre-filtered water is then directed
to Marineland's Bio-Wheel, a patented classic wet/dry biological
filter. The result is one hundred percent water-to-media quality...
and a healthier environment for Barnes Place plants and fish.
Water temperature is important, too. That's why the Barnes
Place Eclipse One is equipped with a one hundred watt thermal
submersible aquarium heater. The ceramic heater core maintains
a constant water temperature of seventy-two degrees. This may
seem warm on a sunny day sitting pool side, but it's chilly enough
when submersed in water to make one's nipples erect. And you
know, the American Red Cross has documented cases where hypothermia
has set in within minutes, even in an indoor pool heated to eighty-four
degrees.
This is why we sport the latest wet suit wear. The wet suit
acts as a layer of insulation. While it doesn't keep us dry,
it keeps a layer of water next to our skin warm. With almost
no body fat on either of us, it's real important we take such
preventative safety steps.
Well, that's about it.. We hope you've enjoyed your visit
to barnesplace.com and the Barnes Place Aquatorium. If we can
leave you with one final thought, we hope you've seen how delicate
the ecosystem is around you. Here in this tank, we have recreated
a fragile balance of light, water, temperature, CO-2, O-2, food
and fashion. It's easy to control here, but in the greater world,
it takes all of us. Bye-bye.
