Long John is Home
While he's still fragile, Long John is wagging his tail, and desperately wants to run around in circles. However, after the initial excitement dies down, his breathing becomes labored again. The excitement also tends to send him into a dry-heave gagging fit. Dr. Hirsch just thinks that is a result of stomach acid burning his esophagus, and that should pass soon. He's eating small portions of solid food and is managing to keep it down.
Late Thursday, he was feeling good enough to figure out that if he stepped on the tube of his I.V., it would stop the flow, sounding an alarm, and someone would come very quickly to pay attention to him.

Good News For Our Valentine
Long John is in much better condition this morning. Test results show confirm it is not Addision's Disease, so it is most likely a bad case of what could most simply be described as food poisoning. Dr. Hirsh reports Long John is looking better, he wagged his tail for a few minutes this morning, and has had a spoon-full of food this morning and not thrown it up yet. Long John might be home on Saturday if he continues to improve.
